Summer in a jar indeed: Blue Chair Fruit's lovely jams at the Eat Real Festival in Oakland. I took home a jar of Black Mission Fig, although the Strawberry-Pink Peppercorn was calling my name as well.
Hodo Soy Beanery's tofu, freshly enrobed in chocolate and topped with a nougatine disc, en route down the chocolate conveyor belt to the waiting guests of Michael Recchiuti's Soy and Chocolate Taste Project.

At the Taste TV Wine and Food Pairing Taste-Off at Press Club. The winning pairing, at right: "Summer Baby BLT" Three Cheese Crostini with Heirloom Tomato, Pancetta, and Basil Chiffonade, paired with a mouth-tingling Miner Family Sangiovese.
Ok, so this is not dessert, BUT Press Club offers a cupcake and wine pairing on Fridays! That plus the beautiful lounge-cum-swanky-bachelor-pad decor warrants a return visit.

1. Two really sweet and friendly brothers offering up cream puffs made to an old family recipe.
2. Gorgeous, cumulus-cloud cream puffs with perfectly soft choux shells and satiny-rich fillings of vanilla, chocolate, or peanut butter (the weekend special). My friend and I polished all of these off - it wasn't difficult, I assure you.

Tendernob's a little sweeter with the addition of Hooker's Sweet Treats and their gloriously chewy-soft caramels dipped in dark chocolate and dusted with smoked sea salt.
Praline-caramel cookies and bread pudding warrant a return visit.
Yuzu, Lavender Vanilla, and Mayan Chocolate Macarons from Pamplemousse. Not bad but I'm afraid Paulette's is still my favorite! Uber cute cafe though.
