I just discovered this book and I really want to buy it ! I too love mini desserts, it's pretty and looks delicious like these little ones !

Wow- kawaii is right! And for those who do happen to be taking a trip to Japan in the next month, is there anywhere you would suggest looking in particular? This would be a great souvenir/ gift for people when I come back...

These are beautiful tiny cakes! I've always loved apricot and almond fused together in baked desserts but I had never though of adding orange to the mix. Brilliant idea. :)

Valérie

Oh, these are just precious! There's something about miniature portions that makes them so irresistible! Thank your for the review and the recipe!

Allison

Those cakes are adorable! I must get this book when it comes out.

I have a question about the liners you used. You mentioned they are wax-lined. Does the wax melt while in the oven? I purchased some cute cupcake liners a while back only to find that they were wax-lined and wasn't sure if they were ok to bake in. I was bummed because they are really cute, but I now have hope that I might be able to use them.

I've also seen paper pans at Sur la Table - in case anyone needs/wants to run out and buy some today. Don't think they have anywhere near the selection King Arthur Flour Online does though!

I love the idea of Carole's book! I might have to look around for one of these!! Thanks Anita!

Connie

These little cakes look precious and oh so delicious! I could use one to go with my tea right now. I'm so happy you mentioned Carole's book too. Great timing; I have been asked to make mini-desserts for a fundraiser next month. Thank you for sharing! Oh, do you do your own photography? It's delightful.

Katie

Little bites, big pictures = virtual love.

I too, really like the cute paper loaf pans. I am making cupcakes for a friend's party, and searching for cute liners, came across the closest paper pan to the one you used:
