what great events you were able to participate in! :) umeboshi sorbet sounds like an interesting pair to cocoa nib pannacotta. and rose truffles heavenly! lucky you!

So jealous...yum.
I had thought about coming up with something for that.

I'm not a big wine person but chocolate tastings sound fantastic!

I love Nicole Krasinski. I saw one of her presentations at Tante Marie and was blown away by her desserts. I tried to work with her but somehow it didn't work out. Her desserts are innovative and the flavor combinations totally work.

I wish I had been there with you, it sounds like a chocolate lover's dream.

Laura (a pastry chef in training, also located in the Bay Area)

yum...i didn't realize you went to 3 chocolate tastings! boy am i jealous. wish i had been there, too!

There's nothing quite like chocolate tasting. That makes my eyes light up everytime. Lucky you to be a part of it!

Wow u lucky girl ! i would've loved to go for one.

I am so jealous of your experience. :)

Anita/Pastry Girl...

Just wanted to say thank you for stopping by on Sunday and the kind words written here about our Chocolate Sunday event.

With such a strong turn out of enthusiastic 'chocolatiers' I'm sure we'll do it again soon, possible in September.

Best,

Anthony

Kat,
There are people doing really cool things with chocolate in the Bay Area - I'm lucky to get to meet some of them! You get all the cool pastry shops in Japan though!

Peabody,
It was sort of a coincidence that so many things were happening at once - were you thinking of coming to SF for an event or holding your own chocolate tasting?

Amy,
I think chocolate tastings should be the next big thing - better than wine tastings, I agree!

Laura,
I was lucky to find out about all the events! I agree that Nicole is super talented, I'm glad you got to experience her desserts too!

Monica,
You would have loved it! If you ever come to the bay area, I'll take you around to all the chocolate shops and we'll stuff ourselves silly!

Veron,
There are so many yummy events going on in SF all the time, I feel quite lucky! Next time I'll save some chocolate to send to you!

Kate,
Thank you! It was sort of a lucky thing...I don't see any more in the near future for me:(

Garrett,
Thanks...I got lucky, that's all! I'll be sure to let you know if I hear of any more of these things!!

Anthony,
Thank you so much for opening up your kitchen and sharing your chocolate with us! I had a wonderful time and am telling all my chocolate loving friends about your products! Certainly looking forward to visiting your kitchen again!

Ciao Anita - I'm glad that Scharffen Berger is still keeping to its small roots and traditions - I wasn't exactly happy to hear Hershey bought them.

I did an MBA paper on Operations Management based on their factory back in 2002 - being inside was awesome! I bet the chocolate tasting was fun. *Drool*
