I love Linzertorte. I have a recipe with hazelnuts and pipe dough that Ilove but it is tedious and I don't make it often. I like your recipe a lot. Sounds good for a dinner party on sunday. Thanks for sharing!

Julie

Another lovely post. Wonderful writing, wonderful subject.

peabody

Well done. Looks beautiful. My hubby really wants to go see that movie so maybe now I will break down and go see it.

Scott at Real Epicurean

Delicious, delicious photographs. Give me some!

Kat

Lovely post and more books for me to add to my wishlist! :)

renee

My husband and I went to Vienna on our honeymoon last year. Now I want linzertorte, and sachertorte, or maybe to just sit in a cafe and linger. I also want to see that movie!

Brilynn

Excellent pictures!
I could go for some magic!

maura

Ah yes, the linzertorte, how I love it so!

And me in the house with nothing but Halloween candy.

Bea at La Tartine Gourmande

So nice. Reading your post makes me travel again to budapest, Vienna or Prague, cities that I have loved when I went. And, believe it or not, I never tasted Linzetorte! Yours looks delicious, of course, as usual!

Jacelyn

What a lovely looking tart!

Ivonne

It's so beautiful, Anita! I just love Kaffehaus, but have yet to try the Linzertorte. You've inspired me!

ParisBreakfasts

Such beautiful shots Anita...yummers! You make it look so light and loverly. Yr Pierre Hermé catalog is on it's way to you. Keep an eye out :)

Leticia

I don't know whether I want to eat the torte or just look at it. It's almost to beautiful to eat!

Anita

Helen,
I have seen the recipes that have you pipe the dough - it does seem more time-consuming but the results always look wonderful!

Julie,
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the post!

Peabody,
I think it was an enjoyable movie. At least it will inspire you to bake something Austrian!

Scott,
Thank you! I always wish I could somehow share my creations with everyone!

Kat,
Thank you! The book is a good read, I think you'll like it!

Renee,
You must have some wonderful memories of Vienna - and of the desserts there!

Brilynn,
The movie's magical - and so's how nice this recipe comes out!

Maura,
Glad to find another linzertorte fan!

Bea,
Thank you! I am envious that you have been there - I would have asked you how you liked the real thing! I will have to visit someday and compare...

Jacelyn,
Thank you! I had fun making the top!

Ivonne,
I am sure you will make a beautiful linzertorte - it's a great cookbook!

Carol,
Thank you! And I received your package, merci beaucoup;)

Leticia,
Thank you! I made sure to take dozens of shots before I dug into it:)

Diana

Thank you for posting this recipe, and the luscious pictures! I wanted to try making a Linzertorte for Christmas, as my family has been to Vienna and thoroughly enjoyed the glorious desserts there...there are a lot of recipes online, but I went ahead with this one and it came out beautifully (and the house did smell incredible when it was baking!). I didn't have seedless raspberry jam, but a few minutes with a strainer and regular seeded jam solved that. Also, it kept for many days--I think it was actually better the second day than the first, when the flavors and spices mellowed together a bit more. Thank you again.

Mary Sanavia

What a lovely post! I loved that movie too!!! Now I must try this recipe asap. I have made linzer cookies before and they're always a hit,so I think this tart will be perfect. Thank you!
